Following the successful delivery of the replacement crane for the Seajacks Leviathan in 2012, Kenz Cranes received a repeat order for another 400t crane to be used for the installation of offshore wind turbines.

Following its successful extensive FAT test at the Kenz facility in Zaandam, the Netherlands, 10 months after contract award, the crane was dismantled, sea fastened and shipped to Lamprell Shipyard Hamriyah in Dubai for installation on board the newbuild jack-up, Seajacks Hydra.

Specializing in custom made and fit-for-purpose hoisting and lifting equipment, Kenz Cranes designed and built the crane according to Seajacks’ specifications and engineered the crane pedestal foundation. The Kenz crane is designed with a strong focus on low and easy maintenance, safety and reliability which were facilitated by, among others, the usage of redundant load cells, redundant power packs, tugger winches, camera’s, and etcetera. Since this crane is provided with an EX rated boom, designed to operate also during floating conditions and even for deepwater subsea operation, this crane can also perfectly operate in the oil and gas industry.
