Residents of the Channel Islands could save hundreds of pounds a year by turning their homes into energy efficient units as the energy prices are going up, claim green experts.
This follows the announcement by States departments in Jersey and Guernsey that the renewable energy will not become a suitable alternative for fossil fuels for about 10 years.
Matt Desforges, Policy Advisor for Guernsey’s States Renewables department, said that residents need power on demand, and that the problem with renewables is that the sun is not always shining, wind is not always blowing and tides are not always flowing, writes Chanel Online.
