The crew of Tidal Transit’s third personnel transfer vessel, the Tia Elizabeth, flew out to the shipyard in Cartagena in Spain in late August to sail her up from the Mediterranean. She left Cartagena for the port of Grimsby on 22 August.
Tia Elizabeth has immediately gone to work on a short contract for RES Offshore, working on the maintenance of the Hornsea met mast. She joins Tidal Transit’s two existing personnel transfer vessels, Ginny Louise and Eden Rose; they are currently in service with Scira Offshore Energy on the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm. These two vessels have been in constant use by the offshore wind industry since their arrival in 2011 and 2012 respectively, and have achieved 100% safety rate on their first 10,000 transfers.
