Wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy Limited announced that it has awarded a contract for the final key element of the Perth Wave Energy Project, the Onshore Plant and Process Control System.
The contract for the delivery of the Onshore Plant and Process Control System was awarded to ABB Australia Pty Ltd. As a global leader in power and automation technologies, ABB is highly experienced in the power generation sector. Award of the contract followed a competitive bidding process which compared quality, cost, delivery and safety.
Carnegie’s Chief Operating Officer, Greg Allen, said:
“The award of this contract to ABB for the final key element of the Perth Wave Energy Project is a significant and exciting milestone for the Project. With all key elements ordered, and manufacture underway, we are making considerable progress toward the delivery of the Perth Wave Energy Project.”
Initial onsite earthworks associated with the onshore plant are scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.
