Statkraft’s international trainee programme is an attractive opportunity for young candidates at the start of their career. Eight new trainee positions are now open for September 2014. The deadline to apply is 20 October.

“Do you want challenging tasks in a company with international growth ambitions? If so, you should apply for a trainee position with Statkraft,” says Ellen Etholm, who is in charge of the programme .

“We offer an excellent development programme, where you get the opportunity to gain international experience as well as experience from several units within your discipline.”

The positions are:

Graduate Trainee – Market Operations, Risk management

Graduate Trainee – Wind Power Analysis

Graduate Trainee – HSE, Wind Power

Graduate Trainee – Continental Energy

Graduate Trainee – Power Generation, Regional Technical Staff

Graduate Trainee – Power Generation

Graduate Trainee – Energy Management Nordic

Graduate Trainee – CFO area

The trainee programme has a duration of two years and all trainees are offered permanent positions with Statkraft. The programme is tailored to fit individual candidates and their background, and recent graduates receive exciting challenges and the opportunity to gain broad experience.

Varied for this year’s trainees

Five recent graduates are taking part in Statkraft’s trainee programme, which started in the autumn of 2013. This year’s trainee class has been spread across different departments. Sweden’s Johanna Barr and Martin Västermark are trainees in the Innovation unit and the Management Nordic department. Both are chartered engineers from the University of Uppsala. Västermark also took part in Statkraft’s summer project last year.

Sascha Schröder from Germany has a master’s degree in economics and finance from CBS, and is a trainee in the strategy department. Kemal Cihan Simsek of Turkey is a chartered engineer in Harbour and Coastal Engineering from Middle East Tech University and a trainee in the Southeast Europe unit. Jessica Li from the U.S. has studied at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) in Bergen amongst other places. She works with the Strategic Execution unit, which reports to the CFO.

“One of the main reasons I applied for this was that Statkraft is Europe’s leading renewable energy company. The trainee programme itself was also very attractive,” says Sascha Schröder on why he wanted to work in Statkraft.

“Statkraft has a reputation as a great place to work,” adds Jessica Li.
