The World Ocean Council (WOC) has welcomed its newest member Resolute Marine Energy (RME).
RME is the first company from the emerging marine renewable energy sector, particularly in harnessing ocean wave energy, to join the global ocean industry leadership coalition.
RME’s CEO Bill Staby stated that, “We see the need and value to working with other ocean industries to tackle the policy and practical issues affecting the future of responsible use of marine areas and resources.”
He also invited other companies from the offshore renewables industry, not just wave energy, but wind and tidal also, to join WOC, which is the only international, cross-sectoral alliance for private sector leadership and collaboration in “Corporate Ocean Responsibility”.
