Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) staff has announced that it is is currently completing staff reports for the Deepwater Wind’s Block Island wind farm application, with Deepwater Wind Subcommittee meetings expected to be scheduled in early 2014 (January).
The CRMC has accepted the amended application for Deepwater’s cable landing in Narragansett as well. Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has concluded its own hearings on the cable landing.
Various reports are coming in from the federal agencies, and the Fisheries Advisory Board (created along with the Habitat Advisory Board under the Ocean Special Area Management Plan) is in accordance with the Fisheries Mitigation Strategy that is being finalized and then will be sent to the CRMC Council for approval.
