Thyboron port has from January 1st employed Torben Stromgaard as Head of Sales and Marketing, which is consistent with the ambitious strategy for the port regarding continuously growth and development of existing and new business opportunities.

Torben is 34 years old and comes from a position as Business Development Manager within the Offshore Wind Industry. With his logistical background and educational background as Marketing Economist and Diploma in Business Administration he strengthens the profile of the port management.

Thyboron port’s focus is now among others addressed towards the planned construction of near coast offshore wind parks, in the North Sea, to which Thyboron Port is perfectly situated and will play a considerable role in the feasibility studies, construction phase and following service.

According to Torben Stromgaard is the earlier widening in the Southern part of the port, the deepening in the basins and not least the plans to establish a dedicated Offshore Quay in the South part of the port with connected open storage is important to position Thyboron Port in the Offshore Wind Industry.

Furthermore Torben states the formation of “North Sea Offshore Service” as a strong service cluster to serve developers and others in the construction of the wind parks. It is very important for the local companies to offer one single approach towards the big players in the Offshore Wind Industry.
