Pondera Consult has recently developed a unique ‘life size visual screen’. This new screen creates the possibility to show photo and video visuals of new wind energy developments on a ‘what you see is what you get’ basis.
Through its size and special curved screen, the viewer can experience what the actual visual impact of a proposed windfarm will be on the landscape at a specific location. The viewing angle is chosen so that the entire field of view of the human eye is covered, thereby representing the experience of ‘being at the exact location’. The curved screen also prevents optical distortion, thus creating a realistic and correct image.
The new photo visual screen measures 6.0×2.3 meters and has a 140⁰ curve. Photos as well as videos and 3D models can be shown in full size. The screen can be easily transported and set up on any given location. This makes it versatile and useful in a variety of settings, ranging from design sessions with developers and landscape architects to consultation meetings with citizens near a projected wind farm.
The screen can be experienced at the Windkracht 14 Offshore Wind Energy Conference, 22-23 January in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
