Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s wind installation vessel Brave Tern has commenced its work on the Global Tech I wind farm by installing its first AREVA M5000 wind turbine.
The vessel will install 44 out of the total of 80 wind turbines.
This 400MW wind farm, located approximately 180 kilometres from Bremerhaven and 138 kilometres northwest of Emden, will be able to power around 445,000 households after its completion.
This is Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s third installation project in the German Bight since the Brave Tern and her sister vessel Bold Tern were launched in 2012/13 respectively.
