RWE announced that, as of today, its UK renewable energy division is named to RWE Innogy UK, in order to underline the fact that it is part of a single pan-European renewable energy company.

This change of name clarifies the company’s position as the UK subsidiary of RWE Innogy, which pools the renewable energy expertise and power plants of the RWE Group across Europe. Renewable energy is a key strategic objective for RWE, with a pipeline in excess of 10 GW, around half of which will be developed in the UK.

Hans Bünting, CEO of RWE Innogy GmbH said: “The change of name is in response to a number of factors, which includes feedback from external stakeholders, and very importantly employees, who want to feel more integrated with one of Europe’s largest renewable energy companies. For the first time, the activities of all RWE Innogy companies across Europe will have the same name. This will further help to underline and reinforce the identity of RWE Group’s renewable energy division.”
