An online survey has been launched the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) in association with PwC, RBS and Mills and Reeve, with an aim to build up a much better picture of the region’s diverse energy world and its supply chain – estimated to employ up to 15,000 people – and help influence where future efforts and resources should be directed.

EEEGR CEO Simon Gray wants every energy-related company to take part in the survey so that the results can be as authoritative and accurate as possible and create the greatest impact on behalf of the industry.

Questions range from issues such as training, retaining and attracting staff to finance, research, location, transport, infrastructure and bad payers. Results will be analysed and presented back at a special event to be organised by EEEGR, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

“With the help of industry, we have compiled a straightforward list of fairly basic questions in a survey which will take 10-15 minutes to complete,” said Mr Gray .

He added: “From it, we will gain an invaluable picture of the state of the industry each year and how it is performing. It is something we can refine and repeat and, over the years, calculate the health, strength and weaknesses of our industry in the East of England.

“The data will help us in our discussions and deliberations with Government, local authorities, skills providers and the industry itself and allow EEEGR to determine where it should be focusing its maximum attention.”
