GeoSea Innovation has kicked off offshore construction at Dong Energy’s Westermost Rough offshore wind farm by installing the first of 35 foundations.

According to a legal opinion issued by NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union), there were significant violations in the approval of several offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.

While some companies in the offshore wind energy sector are experiencing economic problems, BLG Offshore Wind Energy Logistics still has a pretty good order book, said Ferdinand Möhring, the company’s CEO.

Via its British subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables, Iberdrola and Danish firm Dong have connected the first wind turbines at the West Of Duddon Sands (WODS) offshore wind farm in the UK to the British national grid.

Innovation, a heavy-lift jack-up vessel, has arrived at the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm site with the first shipment of foundations, writes the Grimsby Telegraph.
