Oceanflow Energy Limited, a tidal energy developer, announced that Evopod E35 unit has been completed and delivered to Campbeltown Harbour.
The company plans to deploy a 1/4 scale Evopod device in Sanda Sound, South Kintyre.
Prior to the deployment, Oceanflow acquired a license from Marine Scotland, having dedicated two years to surveys, consultations and environmental monitoring to obtain it.
The 35kW unit will have a turbine diameter of 4.5 metres, and will be connected to the grid via a subsea cable.
The deployment in Sanda Sound will provide a test site for understanding the long term performance of the device.
