The news of the newly-merged National Centre for Renewable Energy and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult gives the UK the chance to develop R&D for offshore renewables at a greater pace, utilising fully the indigenous world-class expertise that the country has, BVG Associates says.

Bruce Valpy, director of BVG Associates , commented: “We are delighted to have been able to assist in the merger process, and expect the newly-merged organisation to deliver integrated support to the deployment and cost reduction of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy.”

Last week the company also facilitated the latest in its series of development events for Scottish Enterprise, aimed at encouraging businesses to get involved in offshore wind. The event in Stirling was attended by over 70 companies, with more on a waiting list.
