In the field of wave energy conversion, IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) has launched a project focusing on the control of wave energy conversion systems, aimed at increasing energy production via the appropriate control strategies.

To this end, IFPEN is working with various technological solution developers, and potential production gains – and hence greater economy of wave energy conversion systems – have been identified.

In the field of ocean thermal energy, various processes are being studied at IFPEN with a view to improving the yield of the electricity production system.

IFPEN’s marine energy research is conducted within the context of an excellence network including industrial and academic partners. In particular, on a national level, this network includes the partners of Ancre and the French Institute for the Energy Transition France Énergies Marines.
