British politicians have voiced their support for wind farms, however, some prefer them to harness power onshore, while others are in favor of wind energy generation at sea.
According to Ed Miliband from the Labour party, onshore wind farms have to be built in places where they can generate high amount of energy, even if it has to be in the countryside. Mr. Miliband said that the British will have to accept onshore wind farms, if his party wins the next election, the Daily Mail writes.
On the other hand, the UK Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative party David Cameron backs offshore wind power. At the next election, he could even pledge to cut the support for wind turbines across the countryside, according to The Telegraph.
Former Energy Minister John Hayes, also a Conservative, has taken a step further and said that all new onshore wind applications need to be stopped because there are already too many wind farms on land.
