Safety Technology Ltd has announced this week a joint venture with German safety specialists, Offtec.

Based in Enge-Sande, close to the Danish border in Germany, Offtec is home to a unique Wind Competence Centre for the onshore and offshore Wind Industry. From this location the two companies will soon be offering a wide range of industry required safety training, including RenewableUK and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) accredited courses.

With training locations throughout the UK, Ireland and USA, Safety Technology has now turned its attention to the European leader in Wind Energy capacity, Germany.

With 46% of European wind installations being in Germany and the UK alone last year, this was the obvious next step for the South Wales headquartered Safety Technology.

Managing Director of Safety Technology, Bob Dickens , said on their recent news; “Safety Technology has been researching the opportunity in Northern Germany for the past 18 months, so we are delighted to be able to work together with Offtec to develop the training courses in what will be the leading training centre in Europe.”

Offtec’s state-of-the-art training centre is equipped to deliver a host of training programmes for individuals working in and around Wind Turbines, including courses in maritime, work at height, fire safety, and technical training. The 23m x 15m x 5.5m pool features pneumatic wave generation, with waves exceeding 2 metres height, to ensure realistic, scenario based training.

This new partnership will play a vital part in the supply chain for the surrounding Wind Energy activity in the Baltic region.

The centre is planned to open to trainees at the end of May this year.
