The UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) yesterday released findings from its ninth wave of surveying public attitude on renewable energy.

DECC’s Public Attitudes Tracker shows that offshore wind is supported by 77% of people, which is a significant increase compared to numbers from the previous survey. Onshore wind got 70% support, whilst wave and tidal energy were also backed by 77% of the public.

The 9th wave of data was collected between 26 and 30 March 2014 by using face-to-face in-home interviews with a representative sample of 2,040 UK households.

RenewableUK says the new survey published by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, which shows that levels of public support for onshore and offshore wind energy are even higher than before, proves that the anti-wind Conservative party is out of touch.
