Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) and Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) are taking part in this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).
The conference is running from 5-8 May at Reliant Park in Houston, where Heerema companies can be found at booth 2317.
The company’s latest project in the offshore wind sector is the HelWin beta HVDC platform, which is one of the main components of the TenneT DC offshore grid connection ‘HelWin2′. The connection with a capacity of 690 MW will link a large wind farm cluster in the German sector of the North Sea.
Heerema was awarded an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) by Siemens in 2012. The company built the jacket at its fabrication facility in Vlissingen. Heerema Marine Contractors performed the offshore transportation and installation by its SSCV (Semi-Submersible Construction Vessel) ‘Thialf’.
HFG’s fabrication facility Heerema Zwijndrecht is finalizing the construction of the 10,200-ton HelWin bèta HVDC topside, due for completion in the summer.
