Innovation, expertise and experience – all the characteristics commonplace amongst over 60 businesses from the Highlands and Islands set to converge on All Energy in Aberdeen tomorrow, the renewable sector’s key exhibition and conference in Scotland.

In conjunction with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), these businesses will exhibit over the two day event in the HIenergy and Energy of Orkney pavilions, which once again, have the largest regional presence at the event.

It’s the 14th All Energy Conference and Exhibition in Aberdeen. Last year it attracted almost 8,000 delegates from 48 countries, making it a vital opportunity for businesses from the Highlands and Islands to showcase their expertise and supply chain capabilities.

Alex Paterson, Chief Executive of HIE said: “The Highlands and Islands are leading the way in renewable energy. The potential benefits from the sector to a wide variety of businesses across the region are becoming a reality and projects are really taking off, as demonstrated with the recent announcements for the consents in offshore wind for the Beatrice and MORL projects.

“Highlands and Islands Enterprise has long appreciated this once in a lifetime opportunity for our area. We are supporting the continuing development of the ports and infrastructure across the region, as well as assisting businesses to develop innovative products for the renewable industry here and across the world. All Energy provides a great opportunity for businesses in our region to highlight what they can do in the renewable energy sector here and across what is a global industry.”

The expertise amongst the companies exhibiting ranges from engineering, design, subsea and fabrication specialists, to renewable energy developers across the sector.

Mr Paterson added: “All Energy is a crucial event for businesses in the Highlands and Islands. The opportunities across the renewable sector are both exciting and ambitious. The companies exhibiting in the HIenergy and Energy of Orkney Pavilions have great expertise and experience, with many already heavily involved in the renewable sector. These are highly skilled people able to provide solutions for the many requirements of this vibrant sector.”
