Dron & Dickson, specialists in design, supply and maintenance of hazardous area electrical equipment, has appointed a new sales manager to oversee its Hull operation.

Robert Courtney, who joined Dron & Dickson as a sales coordinator at its Aberdeen office in 2013, has been promoted to the role of sales manager at the Hull branch.

Commenting on his new role and relocation to Hull, Mr. Courtney said: “I am extremely excited to embark upon a new challenge within Dron & Dickson and contribute to the company’s ongoing success. Since joining Dron & Dickson last year, I have been part of a number of major developments and I am very keen to see what the future holds.

“There are significant plans in the pipeline for the Hull operation. Working closely with our business development managers and valued customers, we hope to take the branch to the next level and maintain the high safety and quality standards that Dron & Dickson products are renowned for.”

Bruce McHattie, wholesale operations manager said: “Robert’s promotion is testament to the drive and commitment that he has demonstrated since joining the company. I am delighted that this has been recognised and he has been rewarded with this promotion.”

Dron & Dickson employs more than 300 people, both offshore and onshore, and has a network of bases in Aberdeen, Hull, Lowestoft, Stirling, Dubai, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

In addition to targeting growth in the oil and gas sector, Dron & Dickson operates in the renewables and decommissioning markets. It also works in a variety of other sectors from pharmaceuticals to distilleries. The company offers a full range of life-cycle solutions and holds numerous supply agreements, providing competitive contract prices, matched inventory, spend analysis, KPI reporting and technical support.
