Brown and May Marine Ltd will be carrying out marine survey operations at the Beatrice offshore wind project located 13.5km off the Caithness coast.

With MV Antaries and FV Pleiadies the company will be conducting larval sampling at 25 locations over the period of 8 weeks.

The project comprising up to 140 turbines will cover an area of around 131.5 square kilometers.

With a total capacity of 750 MW it will be world’s third largest offshore wind farm capable of producing power for over a million households.

Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited (BOWL) is the joint venture partnership formed between SSE Renewables (75%) and Repsol Nuevas Energias UK (25%).
