OAASIS Group Ltd, an MRO and PPE distributor based in Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen, has been awarded a new PPE supply contract for the Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm following a competitive tendering process.

The 3 year framework agreement was awarded by Norwegian renewable energy generation company Statkraft for the project with further options for contract extensions in the future.

Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm is jointly owned by Statoil, a world leading operator of offshore oil and gas fields, and Statkraft, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, through Scira Offshore Energy Limited. The 88 turbine wind farm is now fully operational and Statkraft have taken over responsibility of the operations and maintenance (O&M) from their base near Wells-next-the-Sea.

OAASIS will supply the Statkraft O&M team with a range of PPE including offshore workwear, safety footwear, working at height PPE and other safety equipment meeting the demands for the duration of the contract to help with the day-to-day operation of the wind farm.

Commenting on the award of this contract to OAASIS Group, Sheringham Shoal Procurement Consultant Juliet Allen said: “When possible, we prefer to source product and service contracts locally so it is always pleasing when a local company is able to meet all our tender requirements.”

The new contract for Scira’s Sheringham Shoal makes this OAASIS Group’s fourth contract with site operators on the east side of England following ongoing work at Greater Gabbard, Humber Gateway and Great Yarmouth’s own Scroby Sands with further discussions on going with other sites.

Lee Sparkes, OAASIS Business Development Manager expressed the company’s delight at the award of this new contract: “This underlines our success recently with other contracts we have achieved. The latest contract award proves that we have maintained our high standards, specialist supply solutions and dedicated customer service to the sector.”
