James Lappin has been appointed to the Board of Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Limited as Director of Ship & Offshore Unit Repair. He will have total responsibility for developing and growing the company’s business in this sector and for the successful execution of its projects.
Mr Lappiun, a Mechanical Engineer, joined Harland and Wolff as a Graduate Trainee Manager in 1999 before leaving to develop his career with blue chip offshore energy companies including BP, KBR and Fred Olsen Renewables.
He re-joined H&W in 2011 as Ship & Offshore Unit Repair Manager, overseeing a range of successful projects such as the Husky SeaRose FPSO (floating production storage offshore) system and the recent Blackford Dolphin Drilling Rig project.
