DONG Energy Power (UK) Ltd and Atlas Professionals today signed a framework agreement for the provision of temporary offshore wind specialists for DONG Energy’s UK offshore wind farms.

The primary purpose of the Framework Consultancy Agreement is to meet the demands for temporary staff for DONG Energy’s offshore wind farm projects located mainly in the United Kingdom, and partly in Denmark. Four UK based companies have been awarded with the framework agreement. Approximately 100 contractors are expected to be hired per year through this Framework.

The contract will be effective for sixty months and will include the provision of professionals ranging from Client Representatives, to all sorts of Managers, such as Offshore Installation Managers, Project (Package) Managers, Commissioning Managers and Inter Array and Export Cable Managers. Atlas Professionals will be working closely with its subsidiary South West Surveys to deliver competent personnel for all stages of an offshore wind farm.

Laura Smith, Atlas Business Manager Offshore Wind : “This Framework Agreement will further help Atlas enhance its position as a market leader in supplying experienced and qualified personnel to the offshore wind sector. Offshore wind energy has huge potential and I am pleased that our professionals will assist DONG Energy with their UK projects and in turn further increase their aim to successfully develop, construct and operate offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.”

Lars Svendsen, DONG Energy Team Lead : After a thorough tender process we are happy to award four companies with this framework agreement. We are sure these four companies will help DONG Energy to have the most skilled people working on the DONG Energy wind farms projects and also support DONG Energy’s strategy for reducing the cost of electricity from offshore wind farms.”
