In acknowledgement of the emergency mission with the rescue cruiser Pidder Lüng at the beginning of July, OWP Butendiek GmbH & Co. KG and Ballast Nedam Offshore donated € 20,000 to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association “Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger” (DGzRS).
The cheque has been handed over by Achim Berge Olsen (Managing Director of OWP Butendiek, l.) and Jurjan Blokland (Director Ballast Nedam, 2nd fr. r.) on board of the cruiser in List on the island Sylt.
On July 7, sea rescuers from List medevaced a severely injured worker from the heavy lift vessel Svanen , working at the Butendiek offshore wind farm. Using the Pidder Lüng vessel, they brought him to the List harbour for further transport to a hospital.
