Tidal Transit, the east coast-based company that supplies purpose-designed charter personnel transfer vessels (PTVs) to the offshore energy industry, is hosting the drinks reception to be held by Grimsby Renewables Partnership (GRP) at its ‘Last Friday of the Month’ event at the Humber Cruising Association on Friday 31 October 2014.

Under the Chairmanship of Chris Holden, GRP was formed to help revitalise the port of Grimsby, and establish it as a hub for companies with an investment in renewable energy. Grimsby is just 10-50 miles from existing and planned wind farms off the coast of Lincolnshire. With membership of the GRP growing, its ‘Last Friday of the Month’ informal meetings are well attended, providing a forum to meet and discuss ideas with other companies with a similar interest in the development of the port.

Tidal Transit is currently operating its latest vessel, Kitty Petra, out of Grimsby, working for Siemens on the Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm, and is delighted to play its part by hosting October’s ‘Last Friday in the Month’ event.

Leo Hambro, Tidal Transit’s Commercial Director, comments: “With our investment rooted firmly in the rapid development of offshore renewable energy off the UK’s eastern seaboard, we have an interest in the future sustainability of its ports. All our vessels are currently operating in the North Sea, three for the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm off the North Norfolk coast, and Kitty Petra 25km north of the Humber estuary.

“This ‘Last Friday of the Month’ event will be the last clean-shaven day for a month for the male members of Tidal Transit’s staff, as the company is supporting ‘Movember 2014′. The men are being sponsored to grow moustaches to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.”
