The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) has identified specific technology innovation challenges for the wave and tidal energy industry, the resolution of which will help drive down the cost of offshore renewable energy, and have a positive impact on the UK economy.
Identified via discussions with industry and academia, the challenges are focused around blades, drive trains, electrical infrastructure, wind and ocean currents, foundations and substructures, operations and maintenance, installation and decommissioning.
The Catapult is calling upon the industry to help address these challenges and work collaboratively with its team of technical experts to develop ideas into market-ready technology.
