The initial testing of the link between Trianel Wind Farm Borkum’s transformation platform and TenneT’s transformation platform “DolWin 1” failed.
“Due to technical problems, the attempt had to be aborted,” said Trianel spokesperson.
As a result of initial testing that took place in late August only a minor damage at the wind farm’s platform occurred.
Alstom, the manufacturer of the transformer station is working on a repair schedule.
“The repair will cause a delay of a few weeks,” added Trianel .
They also added that the status of their 40-turbine wind farm is unchanged as they are waiting for the connection to the grid by the operator TenneT.
