Monobase Wind BV has started testing its new Gravity Based Foundation at the MARIN, the Netherlands. The testing will last until November 28.

The tests include transportation, installation and the in-place condition for water depth of 45 m and a 6 MW turbine. Nacelle elevation is 97 m above sea level.

The first transportation analysis (transport survival conditions) have been executed successfully (Hs = 6m, Tp = 9, 11, 13 sec). This is similar to the 10 year summer storm for the North Sea.

The model behaved according to the computer simulations, made with MOSES software.

Tomorrow the test will include stationary tower installation sea-keeping tests.
