GCube Underwriting Limited (GCube), the specialist renewable energy underwriter, has appointed Stuart Burchell to the newly created position of Chief Underwriting Officer.
This international appointment and the creation of the new role, underlines the increasing importance of transferring lessons learnt and benefitting from global industry experience as developers and investors look to capitalise on opportunities in emerging markets overseas.
Stuart Burchell, Chief Underwriting Officer, will take overall responsibility for underwriting, Roy Munoz remains directly responsible for claims management, Jatin Sharma heads up global business development and Mark Wilson leads the finance and operations team.
“Over the past twenty four months, our book of construction and operation of renewable energy assets has become increasingly international as we have pushed into new territories such as Latin America, Africa and Asia Pacific. This in turn, has a considerable impact on the way these assets are safeguarded and protected,” said Fraser McLachlan, Chief Executive, GCube Underwriting Limited.
“Moreover, while the established markets of North America and Western Europe continue to show much promise and good incremental gains, investors and developers now look further afield for high margin growth.”
