Safety Technology, wind energy training provider, is organising their new Level 3 training programme developed to help military leavers gain employment in the growing energy sector.

With over 20,000 military personnel expected to enter the civilian jobs market by 2020, it is key that these ex-service men and women are equipped to secure work once leaving the forces.

It is an industry wide known fact that ex-military personnel come with generic transferable skills, making appealing candidates for many employers. However, to ensure jobs within the rapidly expanding wind energy sector there is a need, as Mike Jones pointed out, for industry specific training.

Safety Technology’s Certificate in Safety in Offshore Wind Energy (Level 3) programme aims to equip candidates with the necessary industry training needed to work on wind farms, onshore and off.

Certification gained in the 3 week training programme includes the industry standard accredited courses by RenewableUK and Global Wind Organisation (GWO). These courses equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely on Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) nationwide.

The training programme is delivered from Safety Technology’s training locations across the UK and Ireland, and has already seen an influx of ex-military personnel gain their qualifications and go on to work in the Energy sector this year alone.
