Danish energy company, Dong Energy, welcomed today’s ground-breaking ceremony of Siemens’ wind turbine manufacturing and assembly facilities in Hull.
Brent Cheshire, UK Country Chairman of DONG Energy commented: “As the market leader in offshore wind energy, we are delighted to see that construction is underway for Siemens’ project construction, assembly and service centre at Green Port Hull. We have a strong pipeline of offshore wind farms under development and it is vital that we see major suppliers investing in UK facilities to support this growing part of the energy sector.
“With Westermost Rough, our latest offshore wind farm under construction just a few miles away, the Hull-Grimsby area is very much a hub for DONG Energy’s activities in the Humberside region where we are playing a full part as a local employer in the community,” he concluded.
