Danish grid operator, Energinet.dk, expects the cable connecting Anholt offshore wind farm with the grid to go online by 26 March.

Energinet.dk’s subcontractors managed to cut out the faulty section of the cable and make a connection at the one end of the replacement cable.

However, due to bad weather, the second connection will have to be postponed.

“We have started on the other end of the cable but the weather window is not quite as favourable, so we may not have enough time to do all the last half of the repair at once. It seems we will have to take a break,” said Per Hylle, head of department – Maintenance Jutland, Energinet.dk.

The company needs about six consecutive days with winds less than 10 meters per second to make the repair.
