Following AMBAU’s announcement about winning a Nordsee Ost job, the company awarded Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH (ILG), a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, a contract for the delivery of around 47,900 tons of plate for monopiles and transition pieces for the “Nordsee One” offshore wind project.
ILG will be delivering the plate to AMBAU’s production just in time in Bremen and Cuxhaven over the period from May to August 2015. Its annual delivery volume for the wind industry amounts to approximately 200,000 tons of plate.
The 54 Nordsee One wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.15 megawatts, will be located 40 km north of the island of Juist in German territorial waters.
