In four weeks’ time All-Energy 2015 will open in its new home, Glasgow’s SECC, with the expectation that up to 7,000 people will visit the exhibitionthe two days (Wednesday 6 – Thursday 7 May).
The event gathered some 450 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries while over 440 speakers confirmed to speak in lively debates, discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.
“We are highly encouraged by the level of registrations,” says Event Director, Jonathan Heastie, of Reed Exhibitions.
“We are very much looking forward to our first show in Glasgow after 14 successful annual events in Aberdeen. It is fitting that we have moved to the renewable energy hub, in its inaugural Green Year. Once again we have a programme that we know will attract and excite the offshore and marine renewables communities. We are looking forward to a highly stimulating two days.”
Offshore renewables play a key role in the annual event both within the exhibition, with its sector specific trails (including offshore wind; offshore maintenance; and wave and tidal) that will help visitors to easily select exhibits of particular interest, and in the conference.
Offshore wind will be high on the agenda in the opening morning plenary session chaired by Keith Anderson, Chief Corporate Officer of ScottishPower, Benj Sykes, Head of Asset Management, DONG Energy Wind Power amongst the speakers, who also include Scotland’s Energy Minister, Fergus Ewing MSP, Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, Ian Marchant, former CEO of SSE, and Cllr Gordon Matheson CBE, Leader of Glasgow City Council.
Offshore wind fills nine conference sessions (over 12½ hours) in its exciting ‘silent’ theatre, designed to ensure that there are no distractions sound-wise from the busy exhibition showfloor, with sessions on innovation/ cost cutting; operational management; floating turbines, Marine Scotland’s role; environmental, planning and development; and installation, operations and HSE. There are lunchtime ‘quick fire’ technology presentations; and offshore wind (East Anglia 1 and Neart na Gaoithe) figures in the ‘Meet the Buyers’ Share Fair on 6 May.
All-Energy is held in association with UK Trade & Investment, the Renewable Energy Association, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG), with the Society for Underwater Technology as its Learned Society Patron, and supported by over 30 government departments, professional bodies, learned societies and trade associations.
