Hitachi Zosen Corp., Japanese industrial and engineering company, has revealed its plan to generate JPY 50 million (EUR 393 million, USD 419 million) in sales through its wind energy business in the next ten years.

The company has not disclosed its current sales earnings. The company explained that it aims to widen its wind energy business to include developing, engineering, operations and maintenance services, as it foresees more competition in terms of engineering in the following decade, Bloomberg writes.

Hitachi Zosen, which already built three onshore wind farms in Japan, has lately been focused on offshore wind. It recently signed an agreement with IDEOL for the design, engineering and construction of floating offshore wind turbines in Japan using IDEOL’s patented “Damping Pool” solution. Furthermore, the company has been chosen together with nine other companies to build an offshore wind farm off Niigata prefecture.
