Following last week’s news that Atlantis had acquired Marine Current Turbines Limited (MCT) from Siemens, Global Energy Group (GEG) has announced that Atlantis has chosen it as preferred supplier for the provision of certain fabrication, manufacture, assembly and logistical support services.
Atlantis will enter into a lease at Nigg Energy Park for Shop 1 and use the facility for turbine assembly and testing. They will also relocate activities and equipment from MCT’s existing Bristol turbine integration facility as well as Atlantis’ UK turbine assembly and testing programmes in support of its MeyGen project. GEG is already an existing supplier to the MeyGen project.
The recently completed quayside extension at Nigg Energy Park will allow Atlantis to conduct foundation and turbine fabrication, assembly and testing as well as vessel operations supporting MeyGen and other future projects in the enlarger Atlantis portfolio.
