Seabased Industry AB, in collaboration with TC’s Energy, has set up Africa’s first wave power plant south of Ada, Ghana.
The onshore grid connected switchgear was installed one week ago and the first phase of the wave power park was connected on May 8.
Comprising 6 wave energy converters and switchgear, this is the first phase of what will ultimately be a 14MW wave energy park.
In March, Seabased launched the construction of its wave energy park northwest of Smögen on the Swedish West coast.
