The German marine energy developer, Nemos, started the fully automated operation of its wave energy device at Nissum Bredning in Denmark last week.
“With an advanced developed operation`s software and optimised hardware the device already feeds in electricity into the Danish grid,” said the company in a statement.
The Nemos-system consists of an elongated floating body which is connected to the seabed by three ropes. Excited by the movement of the waves, it transmits mechanical energy to a generator which is positioned at any suitable offshore structure and protected from sea water.
