Energinet.dk is planning to replace two cable sections at Dong Energy’s Anholt offshore wind farm.

Following a fault on a export cable in February, transmission operator in cooperation with NKT Cables identified there is a risk of error in the first 400 meters of the submarine cable from Grenå and the last 4 km before the substation.

To remind, the 400MW Anholt offshore wind farm went offline on 21 February for four weeks due to faulty cable. The replaced piece of cable was sent to the laboratory where it underwent investigation to determine the cause of damage.

According to Energinet.dk the work will commence in late September and last five to six weeks depending on the weather.

“The financial details of the project has not been determined at this time,“ said Torben Glar Nielsen, Technical Director at Energinet.dk.
