Wind Farms Prove Themselves in Practice

A recent news item on the Dutch BNR Nieuwsradio covering the results of German-American research by the Max-Planck Institute on the efficiency of wind generation published in the scientific publication PNAS has caused surprise and concern among the Dutch wind energy industry.

RWE Close to Securing Galloper Financing

Germany’s energy company is planning to close a financial deal for its GBP 1.3 billion Galloper offshore wind project by “either October or November,” said Hans Buenting, RWE Innogy’s chief executive.

Global Tech I Officially Turned On

Germany’s 400MW Global Tech I offshore wind farm has been inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by Olaf Scholz, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Dr. Carsten Sieling, Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Bremen, and Olaf Lies, Minister for Economic Affairs of the State of Lower Saxony, together with shareholders and management of the project company Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH.

Van Oord Installs Gemini Substations

Van Oord has installed the two Offshore High Voltage Stations (OHVS) and first 77 transition pieces at the Dutch Gemini Wind Park. The realisation of the large offshore wind project construction is proceeding as planned.
