CWind has been awarded a contract for the supply of temporary power supply services to Siemens at Gode Wind offshore wind farm (OWF).
Gode Wind 1 (252 MW) and Gode Wind 2 (330 MW) wind power plants are being erected off the North Sea island of Juist, around 45 kilometers from the German coast in average water depths of 33 meters. These DONG Energy projects are the first sites to use Siemens’ new six-megawatt wind turbines for offshore in Germany.
CWind is providing a comprehensive service including the servicing, repair and maintenance of up to 90 generators, as well as the demobilisation. The contract that is scheduled to run into 2016 includes the workboats required to carry technicians and cargo to and from site. CWind Spirit, the 22m crew transfer vessel named at a ceremony last week in Ipswich will be one of the vessels supporting the operations at Gode Wind OWF. This is CWind’s second assignment on the site, where the Company is already working for CT Offshore.
