FORCE reported that it expects to continue with its offshore operations until mid-October, including barge anchoring, cable recovery, and test mooring trials, at locations including the Parrsboro wharf, West Bay, and the FORCE site in the Minas Passage.

This exercise is related to the FAST underwater monitoring platforms, supporting the ongoing work to better understand the environmental conditions at the FORCE site.

The barge may exit and return to its berth at the Parrsboro wharf a number of times during this period. For safety and logistical reasons, the Parrsboro wharf may be closed for short defined periods during the operation, it was announced in a notice to mariners. FORCE is working with all wharf users in an effort to minimize disruption to routine activities.

The public can observe marine operations from the FORCE visitor centre, open 10AM-5PM daily during September. During October, FORCE will be closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
