On Wednesday evening in Liverpool at the last RenewableUK Gala Dinner & Awards event before their Chief Executive, Maria McCaffery, steps down in early 2016, the sun shone down on 3 worthy nominees for the RenewableUK Breakthrough Award sponsored by DNV-GL.

The 3 shortlisted nominees consisted of:

Fred. Olsen Universal Foundation for their Mono Bucket Foundation capable of supporting the largest WTGs in hostile and deep waters.

The Workboat Safety Forum for their work improving safety and promoting safe practice and procedures for the the workboats essential for the construction and operation of the offshore wind sector projects.

And the the winner was….

3sun Group for their tailor made innovative network certificate management system of certification generation, distribution, storage and verification which has significantly improved site safety and compliance for nearly 60% of the UK’s installed offshore capacity.

RenewableUK’s Director of Events, Marketing and Membership, Garth Halliday, said: “We had an extraordinary array of accomplished nominees for this year’s awards ceremony, which demonstrates that the industry remains the go-to destination for dynamic innovators at every level. This shows that the wind and marine sectors continue to attract the best and the brightest talent from across the UK.”

Offshore WIND would like to thank Associated British Ports (ABP), Fred. Olsen Windcarrier and of course RenewableUK for the memorable evening which included entertainment by the stand up comedian and event host Tony Hawks.
