More than 200 people involved in the offshore wind industry gathered yesterday at the Offshore WIND Conference (OWC) 2015 to help build an industry without borders.

With this year’s theme, Building an industry without borders , the aim of the OWC 2015 was not only to exceed international borders, but also to break down the barriers in legislation as well as mental barriers, discovering how people can promote the growth of the industry.

Held by Dutch company Navingo BV in Amsterdam, the conference covered the most important topics within the industry, from planning and development, through health and safety, O&M, financing and insurance, (port) logistics, to optimizing stakeholder cooperation.

Following an entire day dedicated to offshore wind, the 8th Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) 2015 annual event was launched this morning by Navingo director Coert van Zijll Langhout and Scarlett Mummery, known as Offshore Blondie, who gave an inspiring speech at the opening ceremony.

Focused on the complete offshore energy industry, OEEC covers both the exploration and production of the conventional energy resources and the renewables sector, including wind, wave and tidal energy.

This year, the OEEC includes a special event dedicated to marine energy, which will be held on 14 October. Co-hosted with the Dutch Energy from Water Association EWA, it will offer the delegates an insight in the latest developments in marine energy in the field of tidal and wave energy, salinity power and OTEC.
