Director Abigail Ross Hopper will attend the Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY) Fall Conference this Thursday where she will speak about the opportunities for offshore wind in New York.
This year discussion will focus on New York’s ambitious target of achieving 50% renewables by 2030 , providing an opportunity to explore how the state can harness the full potential of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies.
To remind, BOEM is looking to lease an area of approximately 127 square miles offshore New York for developing commercial wind facilities. The area comprises 132 whole OCS blocks and 19 partial blocks.
The bureau also published a Call for Information and Nominations (Call) to obtain nominations from companies interested in commercial wind energy leases within a proposed area offshore New York, located 11 nautical miles south of Long Beach, New York.
