Six operators constructing and operating wind farms off the Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex coasts will come together to emphasise the industry’s importance on 19 November at OrbisEnergy in Lowestoft.
Offshore Wind Works, one of a series of events around the UK in Offshore Wind Week, facilitated by EEEGR, will see the six major offshore wind players focusing on jobs, investment, supply chain opportunities, economic benefits and climate advantages offshore wind energy brings and its significance to the UK’s and Europe’s future energy security.
Offshore wind farm operators attending the event are: ScottishPower Renewables, SSE, RWE, Statkraft, Vattenfall, and Statoil.
Simon Gray, EEEGR chief executive , said offshore wind was fundamental to the nation’s energy mix and the East of England economy.
“This is a real opportunity to put the whole industry under the microscope and look at what is happening now and what the industry would like to see happening in the future.
“The achievements in the development of offshore wind have been huge. Strike prices are coming down and technology is developing all the time.
“This event is about bringing operators together and offering an overview of where the industry would like to go, while offering a broad understanding of the industry to interested parities.”
