2016 will be the first year in which we will see over ten offshore wind financings, according to Jérôme Guillet, Managing Director at Green Giraffe, a specialist advisory boutique focused on the renewable energy sector.
These financing projects may not close until 2017, but they will certainly start in 2016, said Guillet.
”There are projects in Belgium, Germany, the UK, plus the Dutch and Danish tenders – and we could also see the first projects in France coming to market,” Guillet told Inspiratia.
2016 could also be the year in which the first 8 MW wind turbine is financed, Guillet predicts.
When it comes to floating wind, Guillet says that even though we most likely will not see any commercial projects in 2016, and therefore no financing, these processes should at least get on their way this year.
